In 1996, she produced a body of work for an exhibition held at Gallery Borg in Reykjavik about the Gulfoss ship (more of a cruise liner, I suppose) that travelled from Reykjavik to other countries when Karolina was young - I think she travelled on it twice. Although this etching was not made until 2007, it harps back to her fascination with this subject and the idea of travelling abroad and 'escaping' Iceland.
