Artist Lucy Kemp-Welch

ORIGINAL watercolour Sketch

’The watering place “

A lovely large 15 x 11inch watercolour on artists watercolour paper. circa 1900

This is an excellent example of her work in fantastic condition with strong original colours . It has all of the key techniques, palette and tones that we have come to know and love in her work. We believe the location to possibly be the railway bridge arches in Bushey .

Provenance:
From a private collection. This piece is believed to have come from the estate of Margaret Frobisher who lived with Lucy. Also previously sold through Sotheby’s in 1979 and was part of a collection of over 30 works by the artist. We have a copy of the the original Sotheby’s Belgravia catalogue which has the work illustrated and numbered 61 in the sale.
